A Professional School Counselor is a licensed professional with a master’s degree in Guidance and School Counseling, including coursework in career development, human growth and behavior, and guidance and information services.
As a School Counselor I will meet with all students to review academic goals, career goals, and personal/social goals. The objective is for all students to have access to knowledge that will help guide the student and parents through their educational career.
Small Group Counseling varies from year to year, and is based on the needs of the student population.
Weekly classroom guidance lessons reflect the VA Guidance and School Counseling SOL’s, and focuses in on a variety of topics, which include Character Education, Career Awareness, and Personal and Social Skills development.
