MES will be collecting canned foods as well as non-perishable food items for families in need this Thanksgiving. Each classroom will have a collection area located in it for the food.
If you would like to donate food items, please send them in with your child starting on Monday, November 12th. The Food Drive will end on Friday, November 16th so please remember to send in your donation by then.
If you have any questions or would like to donate a turkey or ham, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or (804) 448-2171.
Thank you in advance for your generosity!
We had a successful Anti-Bullying Kick Off last week here at Madison Elementary School!
Our Kick Off began during the day with a student assembly. The students and I talked about how to be a bully free school and how to follow our four Anti-Bullying Rules at school, home, and on the bus. We also did some singing and dancing – that was everyone’s favorite part of the assembly!
Our Kick Off ended in the evening with a parent session. The parents and I talked about our four Anti-Bullying Rules and how our Anti-Bullying program runs here at MES. The audience was attentive and enjoyed the presentation!
Please remember to review our four school Anti-Bullying Rules with your child(ren). If we work together MES can continue to be a Bully Free School!
Madison Elementary School’s Anti-Bullying Rules:
1. We will not bully others.
2. We will leave no one out.
3. If we see someone who is being bullied we will tell an adult.
4. We will help others who are being bullied.
We had a great first week back at MES! The students were excited about class and being back to school.
I saw lots of smiling faces this week and have enjoyed meeting all of my students!
I am excited to introduce myself to the students next week. I will be starting Classroom Guidance lessons on Monday, September 10th.
For the month of September we will review our Character Education word of the month, which is Responsibility. The students will work on being responsible citizens within the school and community. We will also be reviewing the Anti-Bullying Pledge and Bully Rules this month.
Here is a great link about the importance of school counselors in the Elementary School setting.
