Citizenship

April is here already! This school year has flown by! I have been working on our character education trait “Citizenship” this month during classroom guidance lessons. Students have been learning that citizenship means treating people with kindness and respect – respect is one of our “Three R’s” here at Madison Elementary School.  Being a good citizen also means doing your best to make your home, school, and community a better place.
This month we are supporting Wright’s Chapel’s Food Drive for Caroline.  The Food Drive will run from April 3rd – 7th and then again April 18th – 21st.  Please send in canned food during these weeks to support families in Caroline.  The food is taken to local food pantries throughout Caroline where it is able to be handed out to individuals and families in need.  Wright’s Chapel will pick up the food that is collected from MES on Friday, April 21st.  Thank you in advance for helping our families!
We are continuing to work with the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank and have two programs at Madison Elementary School called Food 4 Families and Club Kids. Please contact me at mgermeroth@ccps.us or (804) 448-2171 if you are need of assistance during the last few months of school. I would love to help!
Have a great Spring Break!!
