Honesty

March is here already! This school year has flown by! I have been working on our character education trait “Honesty” this month during classroom guidance lessons. Students have been learning that honesty means always telling the truth – even when it’s hard. Honesty also includes your actions. Honesty means saying and doing what is true, not false. Students have enjoyed learning this trait and practicing it during class time by playing games, reading stories and singing songs. Here are a few discussion questions you can have with your child(ren) at home that focus on our character trait of the month: How do you feel when someone lies to you?, If someone lies or makes a mistake, what does that person need to do in order to make it right?, and How can telling one lie lead to more lies?
We are also continuing to work with the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank and have two programs at Madison Elementary School called Food 4 Families and Club Kids. Please contact me at mgermeroth@ccps.us or (804) 448-2171 if you are need of assistance during the last few months of school. I would love to help!
